This last Friday the 13th, my husband and I woke up to the very loud sound of static coming from our TV in our living room at 5:25 a.m.! We jumped out of the bed, ran into the living room, and while we did so, our poor little cockatiel bird Coco came flying at my head as I'm trying to find the light switch. All the while our TV is changing it's channels by itself jumping around from low to high numbers! The remote control did not work, trying to shut it off on the set did not work, then my husband unplugged it. Finally it was off and stayed off! Now if it didn't, that would've really been a freak Friday the 13th!
I began calling around the very next day, and ever shop I called said that I needed to bring it in for them to check it. I explained to them that it was a big, box-like 52", and that it was impossible since we don't have a truck. Finally, I found somebody that would come over for a seventy dollar service call to look at it. Well, it turns out that when the repair guy got here, it worked just fine. Talk about living by Murphy's Law! We already plugged it in the next day and it was still doing it, just not when the tech came out, of course! Two days later, it turned on by itself once again. The technician said that it'd cost $600 to repair it.
For all that we ended up having to go out and buy a new television. I haven't been television shopping in 10 years, and was very surprised to see that the majority of the selections were flat screen. I also learned that the plasma televisions have a really bad glare to them. Well, we picked out a 46", installed it, and found out that they have an interesting design to them where you can install a padlock so that the unit is more secure and cannot be stolen! What a great idea! It is all secured, and the key is hidden in our
diversion safe.
Home invasions have been increasing in the Tampa Bay area! It seems as if every day now we're hearing something on the news about this.
Here's an interesting link I found with a short little video that somebody recorded of a man that robbed her home. She caught him red handed on her
hidden cameras. She got a really good shot of him and posted it for all to see and bring him to justice.
Be sure to check out all of our hidden cameras today, you never know when they will come in handy! Keep in mind we also offer
rental hidden cameras.
Yours In Safety,
Regina Jacques
