What a gorgeous day today. The sky is blue, the grass is green, spring's in the air! Some day before I die, I would like to go camping and hiking. Growing up as a child, we never went, and I have never been. I had wanted to be a girl scout, but I've lived a pretty sheltered life. My hubby was in the boy scouts growing up, and he told me all about going camping and spending time with his father. He was a pack or troop leader, whichever is the proper title.
They learned how to make a campfire, tie knots, and all that good stuff. He even went camping outside of boy scouting just as little vacation. It would be fun to also go backpacking/hiking. You see these excursions on TV in movies, and sometimes out of nowhere, they run into a bear. They are coming out of hibernation now!
You rarely see bear spray used on them in the movies where people are being mauled and eaten by them, but it's a great self defense product to have with you when you do head out into the wilderness! Most individuals that've used firearms against a bear have been harmed. There has been a greater chance of survival when using bear spray. Not to mention, they are a threatened species. Depending on the kind you get, they can spray from 15 to 30 feet away.
Guard Alaska ultra hot pepper bear spray has proven so effective repelling bears, it's the only one registered with the EPA as a repellent for ALL SPECIES of bear!
I found a very informative and interesting educational video I want to share with you telling you about the different kinds of bears and how to defend yourself should you encounter them. Make sure to check it out here. There are different kinds of things that one can do for each kind of bear to help get you out of the situation. It might or may not work, but under duress, you sure want to give it a shot!
If you're planning on going hiking or camping, maybe beginning to plan out some family ventures, make sure you're protected today!
Yours In Safety,
Regina Jacques
